The system allows you to sell gift cards for your rentals and activities. This is a great feature as it will allows you to:
- Earn more revenue for your business
- Get more customers!
This article will discuss the different ways you can sell gift cards as well as the gift card features.
The system offers two ways to sell gift cards in the system:
- Through the Online Booking Widget
- Through the admin side by a user
Sell Gift Cards Online
The customers can easily purchase a gift card for someone using the online booking widget. Customer scan access the Gift Cards in several way:
Product List or Grid: Your gift card options will show with the list of your other rentals or activities. Customer can select to purchase a gift card and book an activity within the same booking as an option.
Top Menu online: You can add a Gift Cards tab in the Booking Widget. This page will show all your gift card options for purchase.
Gift Card Link: Each Gift Card option has it's own link that can be added to your website. You can create a button for each gift card optoin/amount, and customer can select their desired amount using the link.
You can access the links and setup details in the account by going to Settings - Web Sales.
Sell Gift Cards Backend (admin)
You may have a customer who is interested in purchasing a gift card if they walk into your shop, or call. You can sell the gift card on an order. To do this:
- Select + New Order from top right menu
- Select Add Gift Card
- Choose the gift card option from the list
- Add the Recipient details (name, email)
- Include a message about the gift card to the recipient
- Add the Purchaser information in the Customer section
- Enter the Payment Method
- Select Save the complete the purchase
This will generate an automated email to the recipient with unique gift card code and a link to your booking page to select their rental or activity.
Customers who purchased the gift card for the recipient will also receive a payment receipt for the purchase for their records.
Important! Receipts for gift card purchases will only be sent if the Receipt Email is enabled and set to send automatically.
View and Search for Gift Card purchases
Gift Cards sales can viewed through Vouchers section of the Settings. Go to Settings - Vouchers to view a list of all vouchers and gift cards that have been created in the system. You can search for a gift card by the recipient's name, email or gift card/voucher code (as seen on the recipient email). This page will show all gift cards and vouchers and their status (open, redeemed, expired).
For redeemed gift cards and vouchers, you can select the record to see more details on the customer and a link to the booking where they redeemed the gift card.
Gift Card Features
Multiple Gift Cards: Customers can purchase multiple gift cards in the same order. Each recipient will receive a unique gift card email/code to use to book your rental or activity.
Gift Cards and Promotions: You can create a promo code that applies to gift card purchases. This option may be used if you want to offer a special to promote a gift card purchase such as buy a $100 gift card and use a $10 promo code to purchase it for $90.
Gift Card Usage: Gift cards can be used only one time. Similar to Vouchers, they do not hold a balance, so even if the customer redeems the gift card for less than the value, it will not allow the gift card code to be used again. It is important to create gift cards that either a) match the value of a rental or activity that you offer, or b) is an amount that will deduct a portion of the rental or activity and the customer will pay the difference with another form of payment (i.e. credit card).
